'Big Girl' was born in an hundred year old nest on the cliff across from my house. She contracted West Nile Virus and had to be taken to Birds of Prey Raptor Rescue Center in eastern Colorado where she stayed for 8 months. This photo was taken after her rehabilitation on the day of her release. She stood on this rock for while and proudly displayed her wings moments before she took off.
