Canyonlights Photo Gallery: Earth, Water and Sky
My name is Susan Peirce. Throughout my years as a
student of art and instructor of art history, I have been privileged to travel to some of the most beautiful
and ancient sites abroad and in the southwest. At these places, I have
been intrigued by the ambiguities of light, openings, and passages - natural
and constructed - transitional zones which one can physically and
spiritually transcend. These places
nurture the soul. I hope that my photographs transmit some of their spirit. I currently live in the Little Thompson River Valley near Boulder,
Colorado where I have been working to protect this historic and
archaeologically rich riparian river corridor and wildlife habitat. My images of the Little Thompson have been exhibited and sold to help
this unique area from destruction as a dam site. My photographs have been exhibited internationally and have appeared in publications including Photographer's
Forum, Best of Photography Annual, Zoom Magazine, American Rivers
